XLSX naar CSV Converter

Overview

Turn an Excel sheet into a plain CSV file. Open an .xlsx or .xls file, check the preview, and download. Formulas come out as their values and text is saved as UTF-8, so the file opens cleanly in Excel, Google Sheets or pandas. It all runs in your browser, so your spreadsheet stays on your computer.

Data pipeline prepGet Excel exports ready for pandas, SQL databases or ETL jobs that don't take XLSX.
Sharing with other toolsHand data to software or people that can read CSV but not Excel files.
Confidential dataConvert payroll or budget sheets without uploading them anywhere.
Single-table exportsGet one clean table out of a workbook instead of copying cells by hand.
Quick format checksPreview the CSV to check column order and encoding before it goes into a repo or data store.

Frequently asked

What Excel file formats can I convert?

Both .xlsx and older .xls files. The tool detects which one you have.

Can I choose different CSV delimiters?

Yes. Commas are the default. Open the file's settings and pick semicolon, tab or pipe under Output delimiter.

How are multiple sheets handled?

The tool converts the first sheet in the workbook. To convert another sheet, move it to the front in Excel, or save it as its own file.

Will formulas be converted?

You get the calculated values, not the formulas, so the CSV holds the actual numbers. Long numbers, such as barcodes, keep every digit.

How are special characters handled?

Accents, symbols and other Unicode text come through intact. The CSV is saved as UTF-8 with a byte order mark, so Excel opens it with the right characters.

Is there a limit on file size?

Files up to 50 MB work. For bigger ones, split the data across smaller workbooks first.
