What audio formats can I convert between?
You can convert to MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG and M4A. The input can be almost any audio file FFmpeg reads (Opus, WMA, AIFF, APE, WavPack and more), or a video file such as MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or AVI, in which case its main audio track is converted.
Which audio format should I choose?
MP3 plays everywhere. WAV is uncompressed, FLAC is lossless but smaller, AAC and OGG compress well, and M4A suits Apple devices.
Will I lose audio quality during conversion?
Not with WAV or FLAC, which are lossless. For MP3, AAC or OGG, pick 192 kbps or higher to keep it sounding good.
Can I convert multiple audio files at once?
Yes. Add several files and convert them in one go, with the same or different settings.
Is there a file size limit for audio conversion?
Files up to about 2 GB work. In practice the limit is your device's memory.
How long does audio conversion take?
Usually 1–2 minutes, and anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the file size, formats and settings.
Are my audio files uploaded to your servers?
No. FFmpeg runs in your browser through WebAssembly, so your files never leave your computer.
Can I adjust the audio quality and bitrate?
Yes. You can set the quality, bitrate and sample rate. A higher bitrate sounds better but makes a bigger file.
