Frequently asked

What's the difference between Lorem Ipsum and real words?

Lorem Ipsum is scrambled Latin that has been used as filler since the 1500s. Real words gives you English words instead, which feels more natural but can pull attention away from the design.

Can I control how much text is generated?

Yes. Generate by paragraphs, words, sentences or characters, and set how long the paragraphs are. You can also choose whether it opens with the classic 'Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...'.

Is the generated text saved anywhere?

No. The text is made in your browser and nothing is stored on a server. Each time you generate, you get fresh text from your current settings.

Can I download the generated text?

Yes. Download it as a .txt file or copy it to your clipboard.

Why do designers use Lorem Ipsum?

Text nobody can read keeps people looking at the layout, type and spacing instead of the words.

Can I see statistics about the generated text?

Yes. You see counts for paragraphs, words, sentences and characters (with and without spaces), which helps when you need to hit a certain length.
