Video & Audio Viewer

Overview

Open almost any video or audio file right in your browser. MP4, WebM, MP3 and FLAC play straight away, and MKV, AVI, WMV, WMA, AIFF and dozens more are converted on your computer with FFmpeg when you open them. Drop a whole folder, flip through it full screen and scrub audio on its waveform. Your files are never uploaded.

How it works

Drop your files

Drag in one or more video and audio files, in any mix of formats. MKV, AVI, WMA and other formats your browser can't play are converted on your computer when you open them.

Play full screen

Tap a file to open it full screen. Swipe or use the arrow keys to move between files, and double-tap the sides of a video to skip 10 seconds.

Download or convert

Download the original as is, or use the options menu to save the preview or convert to MP4, WebM, GIF, MP3, WAV, FLAC and more.

Frequently asked

Are my videos or audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. Playback, previews and conversions all happen in your browser. Formats that need converting go through an FFmpeg WebAssembly engine on your computer, and nothing is sent to a server.

Which formats can I play?

MP4, WebM, OGG, MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC and M4A play right away. MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG, MTS, 3GP, MXF, WMA, AIFF, APE, AC3, AMR and many more play after a local FFmpeg conversion.

Why does an AVI or WMV take a moment before it plays?

Your browser can't play these directly, so FFmpeg first turns them into a playable preview on your computer. If only the container is the problem, that takes seconds. Older codecs need a full re-encode, and a progress bar shows how far along it is.

Does downloading change my files?

No. The normal download gives you the original file, byte for byte. The preview and any conversions from the options menu are new files made on your computer.

What is the waveform view for audio?

Each audio file is drawn as its real waveform, so you can see the quiet and loud parts at a glance. Click or drag anywhere on it to jump to that moment.
