Is my prompt, lyrics or music sent to a server?
No. The models run in your browser, so your prompts, lyrics and audio stay on your device. The only network traffic is the one-time model download from huggingface.co.
Which model should I use?
Instrumental (Stable Audio 3 Small) is the quickest and runs on almost any computer, even without a graphics card, but it doesn't sing. Song with vocals (ACE-Step 1.5 Turbo) sings your lyrics and needs a desktop GPU. Best quality (ACE-Step 1.5 XL Turbo) makes the fullest songs, but it's a huge download and needs a high-end GPU.
How big are the downloads?
Instrumental is about 0.7 GB, Song with vocals about 6.3 GB and Best quality about 21.5 GB. The optional song planner adds 1.4 or 3.8 GB. You can remove any of them from the model panel.
How fast is it?
On a mid-range desktop GPU, Instrumental makes 10 seconds of music in about 5 seconds. On the CPU that takes about 12 seconds, and a 30-second track about 20. ACE-Step depends heavily on your graphics card.
Why is ACE-Step marked experimental?
It runs on a very new in-browser engine. On slower graphics cards one step can take longer than the driver allows, and the driver resets the GPU. The tool notices, tells you and remembers it, and Instrumental keeps working.
Can I use the music commercially?
ACE-Step 1.5 is MIT licensed, and its authors allow commercial use of what you make. Stable Audio 3 uses the Stability AI Community License, which is free for commercial use below $1M in yearly revenue; its text encoder falls under the Gemma Terms of Use. The tool adds no restrictions of its own.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once a model is downloaded. Instrumental works offline straight away. ACE-Step saves the parts it reads during your first song, and works offline after that.
Will the same seed give the same track?
On the same device and browser, yes. A different GPU or browser can round the maths differently, so the track may change.
How do I free the space again?
Select the model and choose Remove from this device. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the models and your tracks.
